With the spirit of Aloha in mind, Barry Hatchett’s 9th Annual Beach Shorts Film Fest returns to the South Bay and folks still have time to submit their own short film. Basically, the Beach Shorts Film Fest is a two chapter event with the first chapter dedicated to short films 6 to 10 minutes long with surfing or beach lifestyles as the theme. The screening night is a fun filled family event that brings together amateur and professional filmmakers from the South Bay and beyond. The last date to submit a short film is on August 1st. The Beach Shorts Film Fest takes place on Saturday, August 15th at the Hermosa Beach Community Center where some of the best amateur short films can win prizes. The second chapter of Beach Shorts Film Fest usually showcases professional surf film makers and clips from their latest movies.
It cost $25 to submit a short film. Below are the requirements necessary for a short film submission:

THEME: Surfing or Beach Lifestyle
FORMAT: QuickTime format
RATING: MPAA Rating G to PG 13
SUBMISSION DATES: May 1st – Aug 1st
MATERIAL: Original, Previously Unreleased
MUSIC: Must have releases for all copyrighted material
